In accordance with the arrangements set out in the Notice of the General Office of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) on Launching the 2026 Doctoral Student Special Program under the CAST Young Science and Technology Talent Cultivation Project (Document No. 20 [2026] of the General Office of CAST, Organization Section), the Chinese Society for Horticultural Science (CSHS) is organizing the selection and nomination of candidates for this year’s Doctoral Student Special Program.

The program is open to full-time doctoral students of Chinese nationality currently enrolled who, in principle, are no more than 30 years old, are at least two years away from graduation, and are committed to long-term scientific and technological innovation in horticulture.

CSHS adheres to the principles of openness, fairness, and impartiality. It focuses on applicants’ political integrity, academic conduct and ethics, research foundation, academic innovation potential, and willingness to pursue long-term research in horticulture-related fields. Experts score applicants independently based on their application materials. Following material collection, formal review, expert assessment, and internal public announcement, the best candidates will be selected as proposed nominees and submitted to CAST. Selected doctoral students will participate in a series of cultivation activities organized by science and technology associations at all levels. As a cultivation entity, CSHS will actively build activity platforms, fulfill its responsibilities for cultivation and follow-up services, continuously track the selected students’ academic growth, and help promote the high-quality development of China’s horticultural science and technology.
